If you haven’t already noticed, its Movember, and that means moustaches are in! Big, small, thin, or thick, it doesn’t matter because they’re all for a good cause.
Bring It ‘Stache
“Where’d all the moustaches go?” Australian friends Travis Garone and Luke Slattery asked this question back in 2003 and from there it began. Organizing 30 of their friends to “Grow a Mo” to raise funds for men’s health and prostate cancer.
In 2004, the group officially formed the Movember Foundation, with funds going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. (Fun Fact: At the time, that first Movember check was the largest single donation the PCFA had ever received) Since then, the Movember Foundation has made over $500 million worldwide, with campaigns in 21 countries.
Recently, Movember has also begun to raise awareness on men’s mental health and suicide. These are big ones as mental health issues has become front page news unfortunately due to the recent senseless killings (i.e. Pittsburg, Thousand Oaks). #ENOUGH
